Tower of London, Boat cruise on the Thames
Today, on our last full day of the tour, we caught the Tube to the Tower of London. To beat the crowds, we quickly made our way to the Crown Jewels first. Absolutely stunning! I tried to catch a Beefeater tour, but it was just too packed for me so I left. It seemed the hordes had arrived. I made my way to the White Tower, then walked on the surrounding walls. Walking atop walls became my favorite thing to do on this tour because of the different perspective it afforded. After a couple hours at the Tower of London, it was straight to a scenic boat ride on the River Thames. We had the afternoon free, and I chose to spend some of it at the eclectic Sir John Soane's Museum. The rest of it was spent packing for my trip home the next day. In the evening, our group got together for the last time for a bittersweet farewell dinner.
